House Tips
-
Garden
Watering of the grass and garden occurs automatically. Currently, the sprinkler system in the backyard comes on each morning while the sprinkler system in the front comes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. This changes with the weather.
-
BBQ
If the BBQ gas bottle runs out of gas, there is a spare bottle in the laundry cupboard, alternatively you may swap it at Toogoom Convenience Store at 6 Jeppesen Road, Toogoom. They are open until 7pm every day. Please provide your booking name & holiday home name when making the swap.
-
Outdoor Fire Pit
Don't wear flammable clothing (like nylon) or any loose-fitting clothing. Keep children well away from the fire. Avoid using soft woods like pine because they can pop and throw sparks. Keep a fire extinguisher, garden hose or bucket of water nearby. Please be mindful of our neighbours when using the fire pit as noise travels across the lake.
-
Bins
Please put bin/s out on Thursday night as collection is on Friday mornings. You will be sent an SMS the night before bin day reminding you to put your bin/s out. If you forget to put your bins out and collection is missed as a result an additional fee may be incurred.
-
Garden Lights
The switch for the lights across the backyard is on the right hand wall of the back deck. Please ensure the lights are switched off before heading to bed. The other garden and deck lights are on timers to turn on each weekend.
-
Lawn Mowing
Please note: a contractor may attend to the lawns during your stay. This will normally occur on a Friday but this may change with the weather.

Kitchen
OVEN AND STOVE:
The safety switch, located on the wall adjacent the microwave, must be turned on for the stove and oven to work. If it is switched on but the oven is still not working, turn the safety switch off and then back on again. Note that the timer on the oven must be turned on for the oven to work. We ask that you please use the extraction fan above the stove at all times when cooking on the stove.
MICROWAVE:
The microwave’s control panel has numbers 1-9 on it. You’ll use these to enter the cooking time and power level you want to use. Then use the start button for specific heating modes including reheat, defrost and cook.
WATER DISPENSER:
Cool water that comes from the dispenser on the freezer door is supplied by the container in the fridge. If no water is coming out of the dispenser, fill the container in the fridge.
FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND BLANKET:
A fire extinguisher and fire blanket are located on the shelf above the rubbish and recycling bins below the kitchen bench.

NESPRESSO MACHINE:
Press either the large or small cup button on the Nespresso machine to turn it on. Once the icons have stopped blinking, press the large cup button twice to make a full cup of coffee without changing the pod. Follow the instructions on the water container on the machine to remove it for filling. If you haven't brought pods, they can be purchased at Coles or Woolworths in Hervey Bay.
DISHWASHER:
Load up the dishwasher, place a dishwasher tablet in the holder and close the flap. The dinner plates need to be positioned in the bottom of the dishwasher with the underside facing towards the dishwasher door, otherwise the rotating sprinkler will hit them and interfere with the cleaning process. Turn the dishwasher on using the power button on the control panel.
INSTRUCTION MANUALS:
The folder with operation manuals for equipment is located in the bottom drawer beside the dishwasher.
